Matrix Providers is hiring a Maternal Child/Post Partum Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in Tacoma, WA.
- Status: Full-time & Part-time (At least 20 hours a week).
- Compensation: $36.05 - $63.20/hr
- Schedule: Monday – Sunday, Various Scheduled Shifts Available;
- Actual shifts worked may include: 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, 7:00 PM-07:30 AM, 7:00 AM -3:30 PM, 11:00 AM-7:30 AM, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM and 11:00 PM-7:30 AM
Requirements: The Maternal Child/Post Partum Registered Nurse (RN) must have and meet the following:
- Degree: A diploma, Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate in Nursing
- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) from a professional nursing program at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
- Experience: One year experience in the required specialty is preferred.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Job Summary:
- Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to postpartum mothers and neonates. Experience caring for postoperative patients. The RNs are responsible for mothers and infant(s) throughout tour of duty and have extensive knowledge and experience and have the skill for concentrated effort and self-motivation to carry out patient care requirements.
- Obtains patient history, and pertinent family history, and advanced medical directive information. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress; assists physicians during treatments and examinations; administers medication and prescribed treatments, completes admissions and discharges, and promotes convalescence and rehabilitation.
- Functions as a patient advocate. Assesses patient/family knowledge level, develops and implements a plan of instruction and documents demonstrated level of understanding.
- The RN assesses the patient and plans for appropriate nursing care. The care provided is documented in the patient's medical record along with their progress. RNs also develop and manage nursing care plans; instructs patients and their families in proper care; and helps individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health.
- Communicates pertinent patient information to charge nurse and/or physician as appropriate. The RN verifies transcription of physician orders. Administers medications and blood products with knowledge of actions and usual dosages of commonly used drugs.
- Performs a vast array of direct patient care procedures to include but not limited to: range of motion exercises, lifting, turning, transporting and positioning patients, personal hygiene care, changing linen and clothing and feeding patients.
- Registered nurses shall provide professional oversight for licensed practical nurses and unlicensed ancillary personnel. Plans and implements care with the collaboration of other healthcare providers.
- Responsible for quality assurance/risk management and responds to breaches of standard procedures which compromise the patient or staff members.
- Demonstrates the ability to manage interpersonal relationships and maintains composure and reacts appropriately while relating to patients and families.
- Participates in discharge planning as appropriate and convenes multidisciplinary patient care conferences to address complex medical/nursing care needs.
