Responsibilities
Develop and implement organization-wide infection control program.
- Administer the organization's Infection Control Plan and prepare the Infection Control Surveillance Summary. Develop policies and procedures to promote compliance with the mandates of applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Perform infection surveillance and investigation including planning, design, data collection, interpretation and reporting.
- Report infection surveillance, prevention and control information to all public health authorities as required by law.
- Provide consultation, education and training for infection control and prevention issues.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Certification specializing in Infection Control credentialed from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) obtained within 36 Months (3 years) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences
Five years of clinical experience, Infection Prevention experience preferred.
