RN Supervisor - Critical Care and Progressive Care Unit
4 - 10 Hour Shifts from 3p - 1a
Schedule may vary in terms of days and hours.
Weekend shifts on an occasional basis.
The Registered Nurse Supervisor supervises the daily operations of the nursing unit.
Responsibilities may include management of resources, process improvement activities, staffing and scheduling, orientation, retention, and competency of new and existing employees, and assuring delivery of safe, effective, timely patient care in areas of responsibility.
Assists to support departmental activities and monitors care provided to comply with quality and customer service goals.
Assure good two-way communication with staff.
Assists with leadership/participation in multidisciplinary and interdepartmental initiatives to improve care, services, and efficiencies.
May assist with patient care on nursing unit as needed.
Requirements:
Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
Three years of job-related experience required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred upon hire and required within 6 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred upon hire and required within 90 days of hire.
National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred upon hire and required within 6 months of hire.
Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years in nursing leadership experience at the charge nurse level or above preferred.
Recent experience in acute care nursing strongly preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
