This is a suburban area populated by clients that work mainly at Duke and the Research Triangle Park. North Paw Animal Hospital provides primary care to small animals mostly canine and feline focusing on well care and strong client/patient relationships. There are a variety of specialty hospitals in the area for referral such as the Veterinary College at North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

**$110k to $135K Base Salary (varies based on qualifications/experience)
ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
- small animal hospital offering veterinary services, drop-off services, bathing, and grooming.
- with 6 exam rooms, a large treatment area, 3 wards (canine, feline, and isolation), a surgical suite, and dental table.
- Separate canine and feline entrances and waiting areas with 1 exam room exclusively feline and 1 exclusively canine.

- In-house laboratory capabilities using IDEXX chemistry and CBC analyzer
- using the Schick system
- IM3 dental ultrasonic scaler and high-speed drill
- Dental area includes 2 dental tables
- Isoflourane gas anesthesia with monitoring equipment including pulse oximetry, blood pressure, ECG, CO2, temperature, heart, and respiration rate
- Sound SmartDRDigital Radiography
- offered twice monthly by a mobile radiologist
- All emergencies after 6 pm on weekdays and 12 pm on Saturdays are referred to the local emergency hospital
- Complete pharmacy
- Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
- Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
- Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
- Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
- Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.

- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is to be employed.
