You will be responsible for:
The Lead Patient Care Technician is responsible to perform duties as assigned and directed by the licensed nurse in compliance with established process standards, structure standards and protocols of assigned units.
The Lead PCT works in cooperation with all team members in an effort to accomplish departmental goals and objectives.
The primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate and cost effective patient care.
Responsible for coordination of training/precepting of Patient Care Techs.
Coordinates unit duties to include but not limited to: sharp containers, pharmaceutical waste containers, blood glucose monitoring machines, isolation carts.
Participates in annual review of standardized shift responsibilities.
Performs as a team member in assisting with safe and effective patient care.
Documents vital signs, intake and outputs, patient activity, skin integrity, and procedures completed in the electronic medical record.
Acts as a communication liaison for the patient, family and interdisciplinary healthcare team.
What will you need?
High School graduate or GED.
2 years of healthcare clinical experience.
BLS required.
Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
3 years’ experience as a Patient Care Tech may be substituted for CNA certification.
