About the Role
The Benefits & Wellness Manager plays a vital role in shaping the RNGD employee experience by strategically managing benefits and driving a dynamic wellness program. This role ensures that our team members are supported through top-tier benefits while championing initiatives that promote a vibrant, healthy workplace.
Primary Responsibilities
Benefits Administration:
- Plan Administration: Manage the day-to-day operations of self-insured benefit health plan and our fully insured dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans. Ensure all plans are administered in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities also include new hire enrollments, open enrollment periods, and processing qualifying life events.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, and benefits consultants to optimize plan performance, negotiate contracts, and resolve issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all benefits programs comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA. Assist in the preparation and filing of necessary reports, including Forms 1095, 5500, and other regulatory documentation.
- Claims Data & Support: Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends, manage costs, and ensure the financial sustainability of our self-insured plan. Work with our internal team and third-party administrators to resolve complex claims issues.
- Employee Communication: Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits, including open enrollment materials, plan changes, and wellness initiatives.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze benefits data to assess plan performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. Prepare regular reports for senior management on plan utilization, cost trends, and other key metrics.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of the benefits budget. Provide forecasts and financial analyses to support cost management initiatives.
- Provide support to employees regarding benefits inquiries and issues.
Wellness Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being.
- Manage and coordinate wellness incentive programs, annual flu shots, and biometric screenings.
- Organize and execute the annual wellness fair, ensuring a variety of resources and activities for employees.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of wellness initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize employee engagement and participation.
- Work closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive wellness offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in employee benefits administration, with at least 3 years managing self-insured plans. Experience in a large organization or a similar industry is preferred. Strong understanding of employee benefits laws and regulations.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Group Benefits Associate (GBA), or similar are highly desirable.
- Experience working with insurance brokers and coordinating with finance teams.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
