- Schedule - Shift - Hours: Part Time - Day Shift
Position Summary (This position is 24 hours per week.)
Responsible for assessing the nutritional status and educational needs of individuals in an outpatient setting. Provides counseling and education to patients as appropriate based on assessment findings. Participates in program administration and development.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nutrition. Completes Diabetes Self-Management Training new instructor program within one year.
- License/Certifications: Registered Dietitian and licensed in the state of Maine. Obtain Certification as a Diabetes Educator as soon as 1000 hours of direct diabetes care completed.
- Experience: Minimum one year's experience in individual nutritional counseling preferred.
- Meets requirements set by the Diabetes Control Project for primary ADEF nutritional instructor.
- Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and/or program development.
- Develops and maintains staffing and scheduling patterns to meet the needs of the patients and their families.
- Facilitates and participates in the development of a Performance Improvement plan.
