We are looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team.
The Certified Veterinary Technician is responsible for performing advanced medical, diagnostic, and laboratory procedures under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.

We are seeking a candidate who will embrace our core values while demonstrating the qualifications and skills listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Take history from client. Perform physical assessments and record observations legibly in medical record.
- Triage patients and determine if patient is stable or critical.
- Communicate with doctors, technicians, office staff, and clients regarding the status of patients.
- Educate clients on preventative healthcare recommendations and provide follow-up.
- Communicate any patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples, perform in-house laboratory tests, and prepare all forms to be sent to outside labs, call owner with results as requested by veterinarian.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
- Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by veterinarian.
- Prepare fluid therapy- infusion pump/syringe pump set up, appropriate IVF set up, fluid types and rates for administration, CRI calculations, and monitoring.
- Assist veterinarian in all aspects during surgical procedures; pre-medication, set up, induction, preparation, maintenance of general anesthesia, surgical monitoring, surgical assisting, recovery, writing post-op orders, and pain management protocols.
- Provide and monitor all nursing care as requested by veterinarian for patients admitted to the hospital, including medications (all routes) and monitoring.
- Admit and discharge patients to the hospital by following all admission and discharge protocols. Educate clients on admit/discharge.
- Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, hospital wards, and other areas as requested.
- Dispense veterinarian approved medication, patient food, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, cage card labels, x-ray and lab labels, recording communication with client and doctors, and others as directed by veterinarian.
- Prepare patients for discharge to owners including client education about home care and medication to be given.
REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CACVT certification
- At least 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience is preferred.
- Must have clear and excellent listening and communication skills.
- Proficiencies in triage, patient restraint, medication administration, and venipuncture.
- Surgery skills including but not limited to:
- Dental prophylaxis
- Full-mouth dental radiographs
- Induce and monitor anesthesia
- Prepare surgical site for DVM
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to new situations.
- Ability to act as a team player.
- Must have proficient knowledge of veterinary practice software.
- Must have clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Skills are subject to change dependent on needs of the clinic.
