The Radiologic Technologist performs imaging for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning with regards to patient care. The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates competency in skills necessary to care for patients served. The ideal candidate has competencies to perform multiple types of imaging including fluoro and X-ray, involving Emergency Room patients, surgical patients, inpatients and outpatients.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews the daily patient schedule in order to maximize efficiency and minimize patient waiting time.
- Ensures proper identification and documentation of radiographic images.
- Transfers patient safely to exam table and provides for patient safety by providing appropriate monitoring/visualization during exam.
- Positions patient under X-ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices and affixes lead shields to protect unaffected areas.
- Follows established protocols for cleaning, preparing and operating radiological equipment.
- Provides hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient's condition and response to care.
Schedule:
Every other Friday and Saturday, 11:00pm–7:30am with 16 hours every other weekend commitment. 2 evenings of call per month, 2 holiday shifts per year.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Vocational diploma or Associate's degree from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Radiological Technologist, certified upon hire, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
