GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Cardiovascular Intensive Care – P5 CVICU
The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 28-bed unit specializing in structural heart disease, interventional cardiology, cardiac and vascular surgery, advanced heart failure and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Part of The Edith and Benson Ford Heart and Vascular Institute, one of the nation’s largest and most successful heart failure and transplant programs, the unit provides complex care to high acuity patients from across the country.
This fast-paced CVICU provides numerous opportunities for growth, including training to care for patients who have had heart or lung transplants, total artificial heart implants, LVAD insertion, direct post-op CABG, AMI, cardiogenic shock, TAVR, ECMO, Impella implant and Tandem Heart. Our physicians have developed and successfully completed a number of first-in-man procedures performed with the most advanced technologies available.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Position: 36 hours per week
- Shift: Midnights (Shift pay differential included!!)
- Benefits: Full time benefit package
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BSN preferred
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
