Surgical Scheduler - Enfield Orthopedics

Description:
Position Purpose: The Scheduler I assists internal and external customers with clerical tasks within the office. Responsible for projecting a positive, professional demeanor and maintaining a high level of customer service.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients.
- Contribute to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients, and family members.
- Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
- Understand computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and skill navigating through the Epic and Epic Care. Surgical booking protocols, medical terminology, and Epic experience desirable. Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Considerable tact required in most duties to achieve results. Must have the ability to work well with others in a very busy, close environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
