Full Time X-Ray Tech M-F 8-4:30 in the OR
The Radiology Navigation Specialist will perform X-ray procedures including fluoroscopic procedures under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures, responsible for patient care and proper operation of diagnostic and surgical navigation equipment. The Tech II should report to the Radiology manager who reports to the Administrative director.
Responsible for supporting surgical navigation procedures that require support, including assisting surgeons during cases with navigation equipment. Maintaining equipment and ensuring its availability by working with Surgical Services to coordinate when and where equipment will be utilized. Facilitating room integration with surgical suite in-room technology including video routing and PACS assistance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
- Responsible for patient/caregiver interactions and provides accurate preparation instructions to patient/caregiver with the ability to answer pertinent procedural questions. Responsible for coordinating and resolving medical imaging patient issues including scheduling issues.
- Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging protocols, radiation safety, and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of routine and specialized diagnostic imaging protocols. Is proficient in performing studies in all areas of Diagnostic Radiology.
- Responsible for patient identification, proper identification of all images, PACS interaction, and documentation. Operates hospital computer system for patient data entry and retrieval. Actively participates in upgrades in processes to develop as a leader and instructor.
- Assist OR with scheduling of navigation procedures to ensure support needs can be met without issue.
- Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance. Reports unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Provide real-time feedback and troubleshooting of equipment and issues dealing with surgical navigation and room integration.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, have reliable transportation, and be able to work on an on-call basis. In addition to providing phone support if necessary for imaging equipment in the OR.
- Support both medical staff and administrative staff in equipment utilization and upgrade/purchasing.
Qualifications:
ARRT registered or registry eligible - obtained within 1st year of employment.
Appropriate State Licensure (NJ, DE) obtained within 90 days of start date.
