Responsibilities include prepping clinic, triaging patients, patient education, and requesting confidential medical records. Overall, the ideal candidate should enhance the way healthcare providers interact with patients and their families as well as each other.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff.
- Prepare patient for physician visit:
- Obtain and document appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts).
- Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit.
- Clinical duties:
- Check vital signs
- BP Monitor
- Medication administration
- Assist with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
- Documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting
- Patient triage:
- Telephone and walk-in triage
- Patient documentation and follow up
- Assist with preparing clinical schedule.
- Provide excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents.
- Work closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner.
- Assist in other areas of office as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current RN license in the State of Kentucky
- Minimum of 4 years clinical experience
- Minimum 1 year in medical office experience
- Must be ACLS Certified
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- CPR certification
- Working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel preferred
- Electronic health record experience preferred
- Self-directed and motivated with the ability to multitask
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- A good portion of each day will be spent walking and standing. This is a very mobile position. There can be some bending and reaching when working directly with the patients.
- Strength is needed to hold patients during procedures and to carry/manipulate tablet during patient visits.
- Must be able to get up and down out of a chair without difficulty. During telephone triage, there will be movement between telephone, computer, medical records and physician work area.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens and respiratory conditions is possible in this position.
