About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to join our team at our Prairieville location. As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately and efficiently. You will manage a team of laboratory technicians and ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our laboratory operates at the highest level of quality and efficiency while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with experience in microbiology, toxicology, and chemical analytical testing.
- Experience managing a team of laboratory technicians, with a proven track record of success in improving laboratory efficiency and quality.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, with experience in calibration and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience working in a hospital or other healthcare setting.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by a recognized accrediting agency.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, including managing a team of laboratory technicians and ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, and that all testing procedures are performed in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas that may adversely affect test performance and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of all laboratory testing procedures and results, and ensure that all laboratory data is properly documented and stored.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that laboratory testing procedures are integrated into patient care plans.
Skills:
As a Laboratory Manager, you will use your expertise in laboratory equipment, microbiology, clinical laboratory, toxicology, medical laboratory, chemistry, instrumentation, chemical analytical, and calibration to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that laboratory testing procedures are integrated into patient care plans. Additionally, your experience in managing laboratory equipment and instrumentation, with a proven track record of success in improving laboratory efficiency and quality, will be critical in ensuring that our laboratory operates at the highest level of quality and efficiency.
