The Laboratory Manager serves patients by providing medical laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic information, products, and services. Coordinates departmental activities including budget development, equipment quality control and maintenance, inventory and ordering of supplies, and performance improvement. Responsible for supervising and evaluating lab staff. Work requires interactions with hospital administration, non-clinical and clinical staff, and members of the local medical community.
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology from an approved academic program.
- National certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or an equivalent licensing regulatory body.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
- Experience with Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Immunology, Blood Bank, Coagulation, Urinalysis.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and communication.
- Must be able to remain calm in emergency situations.
