Primary Function of the Position
Hmong American Partnership is seeking a Wellness Manager to support the success of its Community Impact programs centering around navigation and access (COVID-19, Housing Stability, MNsure, SNAP) for the Southeast Asian and immigrant/refugee populations. The Wellness Manager is expected to become the subject matter expert in the workplan objectives of these key areas, understand the interdependencies of each program to the larger mission of HAP, and effectively support the unique outcomes of each program. This position will be responsible for the management of meeting the objectives of all navigation and access programs, budget, evaluations and reports requirements. The Wellness Manager will be responsible for supervising the navigation and access team and providing strategic plans in meeting the program objectives under the direction of the Director of Community Impact. The Wellness Manager will work closely with HAP staff and external partners to strengthen relationships through community building and outreach.
Position Responsibilities
- Effectively manage and monitor program and performance goals and outcomes to ensure success
- Ensure grants and programs reporting and accountability are in compliance and maintained
- Lead and develop appropriate strategies to support navigation and access program staff. Support includes, and is not limited to, becoming familiar with program objectives, regularly checking in with program staff to brainstorm programmatic issues and move activities towards outcomes and knowing when to obtain support and feedback from program and agency leaders
- Ensure compliance with program data integrity and evaluations practices
- Supervise, support and guide program staff in coordinating services and activities in accordance with workplans and the mission of HAP, including outreach
- Participate in strategic work planning sessions with program leaders to ensure impact area goals are achieved, including leading strategic planning sessions as needed
- Other duties as assigned, and as needed, to further the goals of the program and in alignment with HAPs mission
Education and Experience
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in social work, behavioral health, counseling, human services, program development or related field
- Fluency in Hmong and/or Karen strongly preferred
- Experience developing, implementing and facilitating program curricula
- Experience with program evaluation and data processes
- Experience supervising staff, interns and/or volunteers, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Experience working with individuals from BIPOC communities, particularly with Hmong and/or Southeast Asians
- Experience and desire to work with persons of diverse cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
- Community engagement experience
- Project or program management, administrative and customer service experience required
- Grant and budget management experience preferred
- Experience with case management quality assurance strongly preferred
- Program and personnel management
- Knowledge of COVID-19, housing and/or homelessness prevention, MNsure and/or SNAP benefits strongly preferred
- Must have a reliable car, a valid drivers license, automobile insurance and the willingness to use personal vehicle for work related travels
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong cultural competency and understanding of the experiences of Southeast Asians, immigrants and refugees in America
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management, organization and administrative skills
- Program development and facilitation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision along with a growth mindset ready to work with diverse team members
- Proven track record to work across teams
- Willingness and capacity to work a flexible schedule and extended hours during periods of intense activities. Flexible schedule may include occasional weekends, late evenings, and possible travel within the outlying areas of the Twin Cities
- Ability to adapt to new and changing situations and environment
