Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives and reviews requests for ultrasound studies on patients of all ages from child to geriatric.
- Performs such exams as Abdominal Echoes, Renal, Aortic, Pelvic, Obstetrical and Biophysical Profiles, small parts to include breast, thyroid and scrotal exams.
- Assists radiologist with invasive procedures including biopsies and aspirations.
- Assists surgeons in OR with ultrasound guidance.
- Utilizes real-time transvaginal transducers.
- Checks all images with the Radiologist.
- Provides written, unofficial reports of examinations.
- Takes representative anatomical pictures, recognizes normal versus abnormal anatomy, and exhibits knowledge of various pathological processes.
- Marks images for proper definition and explanation.
- Performs general clerical duties accurately, including but not limited to:
- Greeting patients in a courteous manner consistent with the hospital’s policy.
- Logs and checks in patients accurately and appropriately.
- Verifies information and exams performed. Updates and changes exam description to reflect actual exams performed. This assures the correct billing of patient accounts.
- Quality assures exams performed, to capture the technologist, the room utilized and the time utilized.
- Disposes of used linen and supplies in an appropriate manner.
- Safety Awareness – Fosters a “Culture of Safety” through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.
- Participates in continued learning and possesses a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures that continue to develop in their role and throughout the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education - Preferred
Prefer graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program.
Minimum Work Experience
Need one to two (1–2) years to be fully proficient.
Required Licenses / Registrations
RDMS or eligible - Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
