Privately owned feline only practice in Medford, NJ is seeking a feline loving veterinarian to join our team!
Reopening under new ownership after hospital wide renovations, and now we are looking to add a third DVM to our team! Originally established in 1994, our hospital provides a purr-fect feline-friendly space. Nestled in a residential neighborhood, the hospital is quiet and calm, so that kitties aren’t stressed by the noise and threats posed by a mixed species clinic. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our staff become fear free and feline friendly certified.
Our services include wellness, sick visits, dentistry, and surgery. We offer digital radiographs, digital dental radiographs, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and a fully stocked pharmacy. We work hard to maintain relationships with existing clients as well as focusing on community outreach and reaching new clients. We pride ourselves on client education and our staff ensures that we answer any questions that clients may have during and after their visits with us.

Responsibility: The Associate Veterinarian delivers medical, surgical and inpatient care to our felines. The Associate Veterinarian plays a key role in building and maintaining client relationships as well as staff relationships. May assist in supervising staff members in daily medical duties when a supervisor is not available.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a D.V.M. in a practice is desirable, but not required.
- D.V.M. licensed in NJ
- D.E.A license
- Continuing education achievements, beyond licensing requirements.
- Able to recognize that teamwork is essential for a quality practice.
- Ability to work as a team member as well as a doctor.
- Professional and personable demeanor and able to use tact and diplomacy with staff members and clients.
- Perform data entry of medical records and utilize practice software.
- Mentorship available to new graduates.

- Performs physical examinations using preliminary data provided by the veterinary technicians; diagnoses physical condition and presents diagnostic and treatment alternatives to the client being sensitive to the clients emotional and financial needs.
- Performs medical, surgical and inpatient procedures; provides emergency services in accordance with hospital standards of care.
- Interprets the results of laboratory procedures and determines the appropriate protocol based on the results; reads radiographs and interprets EKGs and EEGs.
- Prescribes medications in accordance with manufacturers label instructions and understands common side effects and common drug interactions with other medications.
- Promptly, accurately, and legibly updates client records in support of the SOAP reporting method.
- Understands and carries out treatment orders from other veterinarians; makes necessary changes in treatment plan when diagnostic results support the decision to do so.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation: Compensation is based on experience and skill level.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to ambulate/move 90% of the time.
- Must be able to move supplies and patients up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to use Fear-Free techniques to restrain patients.
- Must have the ability to work in a hospital setting, which includes:
- Exposure to potential caustic agents, medical grade radiation, and cleaning products.
- Exposure to zoonotic diseases and wounds potentially inflicted by patients.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noises (such as barking).
