The Physician Assistant (PA) IV clinical and administrative leader serves as the Deputy Chief of Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) Medical Operations. The Physician Assistant Leader provides a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and advancing the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. This includes but is not limited to clinical and administrative oversight of RRTP medical operation activities, and the provision of clinical care in a multidisciplinary setting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
- Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) or are in the process of taking the exam.
- Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience:
- Supervisory leadership experience.
- Residential Treatment Program experience.
Grade Determinations:
PA-IV Positions may include but are not limited to: Facility or Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) Lead PA, Facility PA Education Lead, PA Residency Program Director, or other Clinical and/or Administrative leadership assignments.
Major Duties:
- Assists clinical leaders and interdisciplinary clinicians in carrying out the functions and activities expected of them in the RRTP.
- Contributes ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care, policies, and objectives for the enhancement of clinical practice.
- Leads and collaborates in policy-making activities related to customer service and the overall functioning of administrative and clinical programs within RRTP.
- Collaborates with other health care staff to establish and maintain programs that cross services and/or disciplines that influence organizational mission and health care.
- Ensures compliance with accrediting agencies (TJC, CARF) regulatory requirements, and assures corrective action is initiated as needed.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm
