Welcome to the Equine Clinic at OakenCroft! We are a six-veterinarian team with an ambulatory internship, and we are looking to add another associate. Located just outside of Albany NY, we are approximately 3 hours north of NYC and 3 hours west of Boston MA. Our practice covers a wide and beautiful area surrounded by the Adirondack, Catskill, Green, and Berkshire mountains; it’s an adventurists’ dream!
We are a progressive 100% equine practice that has been a leader in the region since 1985 with a focus on patient care, client communication, and our staffs’ quality of life. Our veterinarians have a wide range of talents and interests including lameness diagnosis, internal medicine, advanced dentistry, reproduction, integrative therapy, and emergency medicine. This diversity has led our caseload to vary from backyard pleasure and pets to high level sport horses. Our clinic is equipped with a full complement of modern diagnostics and therapeutic equipment to meet all the needs of our mostly ambulatory practice. We do offer haul in and selective hospitalization at our 4-stall facility.
Our practice holds Care, Compassion, and Communication as core values, and we use these as the driving force behind our client/patient relationships and our practice culture. We prioritize team collaboration and support amongst our veterinarians, assistants, and office staff. We strive for flexible scheduling to accommodate family needs and time off with our 4-day work week. As the practice area is large, the practice area is split with two veterinarians on call for daytime and after-hours emergencies. Emergency on call duties will be 1-2 nights per week and 1-2 weekends per month covering half of the practice area. Holiday ER coverage is also shared equally. Each veterinarian is provided their own vehicle, computer, and phone; equipment and assistants are shared between associates.
