The Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist assures that care is delivered to all patients within established legal, ethical, laboratory and hospital guidelines. Perform all laboratory procedures with accuracy, competently with assurance that they have provided for support documentation of the appropriate education and experience and have received the appropriate training for the type and complexity of testing performed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biological, Physical or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or equivalent with registration as a Medical Technologist or equivalent; with current registration through one of the licensed agencies is preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of experience, education and with the eligibility for high complexity testing.
- An Associates degree in Medical Technology approved program with registration in H.E.W. as a MT.
- High School Diploma with appropriate clinical training and documentation with registration in H.E.W. as a MT.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY:
Medical Technologist (MT) Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two years of general clinical laboratory experience in all major specialties required.
