How you make a difference
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Infectious Disease is responsible for developing and managing an infectious disease control program to prevent, identify, and control infectious diseases. They work closely with healthcare professionals and staff to monitor and track infections, collect and analyze data, and coordinate infection control measures with other healthcare facilities and regulatory agencies. The LPN must possess strong communication skills and attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple priorities while adhering to strict infection control protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement systems to prevent and control infectious diseases.
- Monitor tracking log to ensure appropriate follow-up of treated patients and maintain required company documentation.
- Attend monthly meetings with Medical Director and other medical personnel to report patient tracking issues.
- Promote positive social skills and intervene when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Maintain accountability for infectious disease files in the regional office.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Experience
- One year of experience in infection control preferred.
- One year of specialized training/continued education courses in infection control preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Current licensed as an LPN in the state of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
