What you'll doThe Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist I, under the leadership of the Supervisor of Medical Imaging and working at the direction of the Radiology Manager, provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while taking high-quality radiographs. This individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. They must also have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide the care needed.
- Provide high quality test results in a prompt and accurate fashion.
- Maintain an excellent quality of x-ray radiographs with a minimum of a 5% repeat rate as randomly checked by leadership.
- Provide fluoroscopic assistance to the Radiologists, setting up sterile trays, preparing and dispensing barium or other chemical mixtures as necessary, and assists in the positioning of patients during fluoroscopic examination as observed by leadership where applicable.
- Prepare, identify and/or administer medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner when applicable.
- Perform radiographic examinations as requested and in accordance to established protocols observed by leadership.
- Transport patients to and from the room when required as noted by leadership.
- Maintain a good working relationship with Radiology students that complete their clinical within our department.
- Provide a safe environment to our patients.
- Explain all procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns regarding the test 100% of the time.
- Provide coverage for the OR, ER and portables in addition to the fluoroscopy procedures 100% of the time as noted by leadership where applicable.
- Maintain adequate level of inventory in all rooms within diagnostic Radiology.
- Restock supplies within rooms as observed by leadership.
- Clean and organize x-ray rooms after patient use as observed by leadership.
- Perform daily checklists for safe patient care and regulatory readiness.
- Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
- Maintain competence through continuing education 100% of the time as noted by leadership.
- Maintain appropriate continuing education credits to keep up licensure 100% of the time as recorded by leadership.
- Attend the necessary meetings to keep up with changes within the department.
- Attend monthly department meetings 90-95% of the time as recorded in the meeting minutes.
- Perform similar or related duties as requested or directed.
- Perform other duties as requested and observed by leadership.
What we need from youEducation:
- Completion of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school, required.
Experience:
Licensure/Certifications:
- NYS temporary permit/license, required.
- ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required.
- NYS registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required.

Physical Requirements:

Pay RangeSalary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:USD $30.15/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:USD $45.23/Hr.
