Professional Objectives:
Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the pharmacy team leader is responsible for ensuring all prescriptions are filled according to order and regulations, accurately, and in a timely manner. They are responsible for compliance areas related to Wisconsin law, including compliance with DEA regulations. Moreover, it is the pharmacy team leader’s responsibility to supervise and develop their technician and pharmacist team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all Wisconsin and Federal pharmacy laws to affirm consistent and ethical practices.
- Perform all required inventory management functions for all controlled substances and other applicable products and inventory.
- Evaluate CII inventory levels and place orders when appropriate via CSOS.
- Perform proper reporting for any medication errors following all company and other required protocols and standards.
- Work with the Human Resources Department for any needs or questions surrounding hiring pharmacy technicians.
- Coordinate scheduling efforts with the Director of Pharmacy as needed to ensure proper coverage and workflow is accomplished during operating hours.
- Perform continual coaching/training/development of all technicians in order to foster an ongoing culture of skill development and learning.
- Ensure all workflow functions of the pharmacy are being performed at the highest standards which includes but is not limited to: Data entry, fulfillment, inventory control, guest and patient service, teamwork, and overall patient experience.
- Coordinate and perform vaccination clinics on-site and off-site at the direction of the Director of Pharmacy to build community involvement and business.
- Monitor and oversee the financial health of pharmacy department including sales, purchases, labor, and gross profit to ensure profitability of the department is meeting company goals and standards.
- Attend various meetings and training sessions as required by the company in order to bring consistency, build collaboration, and discuss betterment opportunities in all areas of the pharmacy operation.
- Ensure all compliance, HIPAA regulations, and other confidentiality policies, security measures, and control points are complied with at the highest level.
Requirements:
Clear and valid Wisconsin Pharmacist license required
1+ years pharmacist experience preferred
Immunization-certified
Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
Great attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
Excellent computer skills, including pharmacy operations system knowledge
