Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Full Time - Days
Under the direction of a qualified physician, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require minimum independent judgement and initiative in the utilization of Nuclear Medicine for the diagnosis of disease.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Prepares stock solutions of radio pharmaceuticals and materials.
- Calculates and administers doses under the direct supervision of a radiologist.
- Performs diagnostic exams on patients as ordered by a physician.
- Uses scanners or scintillation cameras for detection of radiation emitted to produce images of an organ on photographic film.
- Measures radioactivity.
- Instructs and prepares patients for the exam.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT or CNMT) or board eligible.
PREFERRED:
Graduate of an AMA school of Nuclear Medicine.
