Join the University of Kansas Operating Room team as a Surgical Technologist. The University of Kansas Health System receives the most complex surgery cases in our region. Our highly specialized surgeons are experts in uncommon surgeries, performing approximately 100 procedures every day in state-of-the-art operating rooms. We deliver the highest standard in a range of surgical specialties: Orthopedics, Trauma, Plastics and Reconstructive, Burns, Dental, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Urology, General and Bariatrics, Vascular, Pulmonary, Transplants. Open positions start at 6:30am or 10:30am. 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts available. Some call included. The Surgical Technologist, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and the Nurse Manager, handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the surgical procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the surgical procedure and maintains constant vigilance of the sterile field.

Required Education and Experience- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate or Associate’s Surgical Tech degree OR 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in lieu of the certificate or degree requirement.
Required Licensure and Certification- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
