Job Overview:
Under the direction of the manager, the nurse instructor functions independently and assists in meeting the various educational needs of the clinical and non-clinical hospital staff to maintain and improve competence in their defined roles and provide opportunity for staff fulfillment of regulatory agency requirements. Assists in patient care, if needed. Leads the education and training for clinical orientation including electronic medical record documentation and LMS educational assignments. Assists in instruction of classes including, but not limited to, BLS, ACLS, CPI, nurse residency and annual skills fair. Assists in the implementation of effective educational programs through application of adult learning principles and utilizing multiple teaching approaches including blended learning, to meet multiple staff learning styles. Integrates evidence-based practice and nursing theory into education interventions. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities:
- Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Current FL RN licensure required.
- BLS and ACLS certification required upon hire. Instructor within 1 year.
- PALS certification. Instructor within 1 year.
- CPI required (within 6 months of hire), CPI instructor preferred.
- 3 years of experience in an acute care setting required, 2+ years of experience in Education preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, PowerPoint, Excel), Learning Management System, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation. Cerner experience preferred.
