Position Description
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the role of the Clinical Regional Coordinator within the Physician Assistant Program at University of the Pacific is to develop and maintain clinical sites within the specified region, to be involved in the evaluation of the clinical curriculum, and to assist with the clinical scheduling of students in the region. The Clinical Regional Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a close working relationship with any on-site coordinators to ensure that the School continues to provide a valuable rotation experience at each site.
- Responsible for development, training, evaluation, and retention of clinical rotation sites and preceptors within a specified geographic region; troubleshoot concerns related to clinical students and/or rotation sites; monitor student progress on rotations and remediate academic needs; assist in monitoring end-of-rotation examinations; review preceptor and student evaluations, and address concerns accordingly.
- Responsible for establishing affiliation agreements with clinical sites, ensuring that students meet credentialing requirements at clinical sites during rotations.
- Provide guidance and direction to clinical faculty and staff involved.
- Other duties as assigned.
Workload varies by semester, assigned by the Clinical Director in consultation with the Program Director and other faculty members. Specific workload and scheduling will be adjusted based on needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
- Master’s degree in PA studies or other discipline.
- Current NCCPA certification, state licensure in California (or eligible for state license).
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
Hiring Range
$55.00 - $65.00 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
