To provide trauma informed mental health counseling utilizing an Experiential Therapy modality to adolescents, between 10 and 18 years of age, involved with mental health, public school, and juvenile justice systems. To establish and maintain strong working relationships with families, agencies, and other key figures through regular communication in the form of documentation, direct and timely communication, and family coaching.

About SOAR:
Seeing Our Adolescents Rise (SOAR) is a community-based organization that empowers multicultural and marginalized youth, ages 7-19, through innovative and comprehensive approaches. SOAR provides coaching/mentorship, education support, community service opportunities, events & activities, and adventure therapy to a population whose needs impact their daily lives. The majority of youth in SOAR programming have had involvement with the juvenile justice system.
Responsibilities:
The Clinician is responsible for providing adventure-based therapy and therapeutic services to clients in the RISE Therapy program. They will conduct mental health assessments, update team members on client progress, attend professional team meetings, and support experiential activities. The Clinician will also refer clients to appropriate care when needed, manage crisis situations, and prepare and submit required reports and documentation. This position requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to high-quality client care, strong organizational abilities, and flexibility in working hours. The candidate must maintain licensing and professional credentials.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree and corresponding licensure as LSW, SWC, MSW, LCSW, LMFT, LCMFT, MCFT, LAC, LPCC, LPC, or similar in Colorado. One year of supervised post-master's practice preferred.
- Experience in mental health and/or substance misuse field preferred.
- Experience in adventure education, experiential education, or therapy field strongly preferred.
- Experience working with youth and/or families preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and dedication to providing high-quality client care.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work flexible hours.
- Must have a personal vehicle in good operating condition for work use.
- Valid Colorado motor vehicle license/proof of adequate motor vehicle insurance.
- CPR/FA certification preferred.
- Ability to work well with clients from diverse backgrounds and engage with challenging clients.
- Bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Regular evening work and occasional weekend work required.
- Driving around the Denver Metro area as needed.
- Ability to manage own schedule and complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift heavy objects.
- Ability to drive for extended periods and hike on uneven terrain.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 lbs. required.
- Ability to perform duties outdoors and in various weather conditions.
