Position Summary:
The Resident Care Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assisted living facility, ensuring high-quality care and services are provided to residents. This role includes managing staff, coordinating resident care plans, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Resident Care Administrator plays a crucial role in fostering a positive, safe, and supportive environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care Management:
Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
Monitor and assess residents’ health and wellness needs, coordinating with healthcare providers as necessary.
Ensure residents receive appropriate medical, emotional, and social support.
Conduct regular reviews of resident care plans and update as needed.
Staff Supervision and Development:
Recruit, train, and supervise care staff, including nurses, aides, and other support personnel.
Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues promptly.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure the facility complies with all local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of care.
Implement and oversee quality assurance programs to continually improve care and services.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
Family and Resident Relations:
Act as a liaison between residents, their families, and the facility.
Address and resolve any concerns or complaints from residents or their families.
Organize and participate in resident and family meetings to discuss care plans and facility updates.
Foster a welcoming and inclusive community environment.
Operational Management:
Manage the facility’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality of care.
Oversee the maintenance of the facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
Implement and maintain emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
Community Engagement:
Promote the facility within the local community to enhance its reputation and attract new residents.
Collaborate with local healthcare providers and organizations to support resident needs.
Organize and participate in community outreach programs and events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare management role, preferably in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
Valid state licensure as a nursing home administrator or assisted living administrator (if required by state law).
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing assisted living facilities.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the community.
Proficiency in using healthcare management software and other relevant technology.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
On-call availability for emergencies or urgent situations.
Work is primarily performed in an assisted living facility setting.
