Your Role With Us:
As a critical access hospital, the West Valley Hospital serves the community in a unique way. This department is expanding to 25 beds by the end of Summer 2023, all of which are utilized for inpatient and outpatient services. Our inpatient population consists of acute care patients requiring admission for up to 96 hours. Our outpatient services include patients requiring overnight observation as well as patients requiring skilled nursing care. You can be a part of this tight-knit group of healthcare professionals that delivers care in a team-focused environment. As a team member, you will contribute to the many staff-led projects that are designed to deliver the highest quality of care at all times
Our Nurses work independently as well as collaboratively, maintaining a positive, professional demeanor while prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. You will be constantly challenged to think creatively about how to drive patient care results, stay updated on current trends and practices, and share learnings with team and other health care colleagues.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, quality healthcare to patients in various settings with a variety of acute and critical, medical, surgical and rehabilitation needs.
Core Functions:
- Care for the patient as a part of the holistic care of your patient
- Ability to work across multiple teams who are working to offer solutions to care plan gaps, continuity of care, medication management
- You will observe and record patient behavior
- Perform physical exams and diagnostic tests
- Collect patient health histories
- Counsel and educate treatment plans to patients and their families

Background/Expertise:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a BSN, or Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) - ADN with an agreement to complete BSN or MSN within 3 years of hire.
- ADN's with 5+ years of experience will not need to obtain BSN or MSN.
- Minimum of one (1) year of RN Staff Nurse experience required.
- Acute care RN Staff Nurse experience preferred.
- Current and unrestricted Oregon license.
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association required.
- ACLS required for ICU & CVCU within 6-months of hire.
