What You’ll Do
Easterseals PORT Health provides one-on-one and group counseling for clients with substance abuse and/or behavioral issues. As an intern, you will complete your clinical rotations, practicum or internship as part of our treatment team. You will maintain clinical documentation according to program and Medicaid standards regarding service provision, assessment, and progress reports in a supportive environment focused on your growth and learning as well as patient healing.
How You’ll Benefit
This unpaid internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In your time with us you will learn how to use skills acquired in school and their practical application in a professional setting to gain a better understanding of an Outpatient Therapy service provider treating patients with mental health and substance use diagnosis.
What We’re Looking For
To join our team, you must be currently enrolled in a Human Services or PMHNP program. To be successful in your internship, you must possess the below skills:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet applications
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
