Location: Glastonbury, CT – On-site (31 Sycamore St.)
Job Summary for Mammographer/Radiographer Technologist:
Under the general supervision of the radiologist, provides diagnostic service for patients of all ages undergoing diagnostic radiology and/or mammographic studies in the department of radiology. Multi-skilled technologists demonstrate the skill to use two or more radiographic equipment to produce quality images for radiological diagnosis.
- Must accurately interpret a physician’s instructions, routine procedural protocols, prepare and operate the radiographic and mammographic equipment, associated software and equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
- Document all patient related information in radiology information system in a timely manner based on patient and radiologist workflow.
- Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Maintain all aspects of the radiographic and mammographic area including technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and keep the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
- Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules).
- Provides instruction/mentoring to new hires. Continuously strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.
- On-the-job training for those that are x-ray experienced and willing to be cross trained in mammography.

Job Requirements for Mammographer/Radiographer:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), RT
- Required: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (RTR). Connecticut Radiographer License
- Two years of Mammographic, CT scan, MR, and radiologic technologist experience
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
