These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. GENERAL SUMMARY: The acupuncturist will provide treatment of symptoms and disorders using needles and small electrical currents. May provide massage treatment. May also provide preventative treatments.
DESCRIPTION:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, treat and prevent disorders by stimulating specific acupuncture points within the body using acupuncture needles.
- May also use cups, nutritional supplements, therapeutic massage, acupressure and other alternative health therapies.
- Charting, documentation and consultation.

- Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge: Understanding of psychology, therapy, counseling, biology, medicine and dentistry.
- Skills: Active listening and critical thinking with a service orientation, strong judgement and decision making skills, strong customer and personal service perspective.
- Abilities: Can monitor ongoing activities in consideration of changing patient conditions.
