Summary
Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with the policies and procedures that are provided by the Lee Health cardiovascular department. A Level 1 (primary vascular) sonographer must specialize in non-invasive vascular testing. The sonographer must be proficient in carotid duplex, lower extremity venous studies, lower extremity non-imaging arterial studies, lower arterial duplex, and pseudo aneurysm evaluations. The position requires varied shifts including weekend rotations and "on call" rotation as determined per specific department needs including holidays, weekends, and evenings. Portable exams are done based on patient need. Demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment. Have an understanding of sterile procedures, isolation precaution techniques, infectious hazardous materials, sharp instruments, and defibrillator equipment.

Educational Requirements
Degree/Diploma Obtained: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.

Minimum Years Required: Less than 1 Year in Vascular Ultrasound (Required)

Licenses: Not Required
Certifications/Registration Requirements
Certificates/Registrations: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) (Required)
Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Vascular Technology (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Vascular Ultrasound (RVS).
