UC Santa Cruz invites applications for a Global and Community Health scholar with expertise in health data analysis and/or geo-visualization as they relate to societal injustices embodied in ill-health. We seek candidates who bring a critical global health perspective to topics such as big data, measuring constraints on health systems, measuring access to medicines, genomics for underserved communities, impact evaluation for health care interventions and policy making, the delivery of primary health care across global, national, and local scales, and the mapping of health security challenges as they relate to food systems, pandemic threats, and climate crisis.
To be considered, candidates must also make clear their past and/or future contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and service.
The Assistant Professor position is open to any field in the Social Sciences, including Anthropology, Community Studies, Economics, Education, Environmental Studies, Latin American & Latino Studies, Politics, Psychology, and Sociology. The selected candidate will be invited to join one of these departments in UCSC’s Division of Social Sciences and to help develop a Global Community Health (GCH) program.
