Locations: Coon Rapids, Fridley, Maplewood, Plymouth, St. Paul and Hudson, WI.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform specimen collection (venipunctures)
- Maintain specimen integrity throughout specimen collection and processing
- Accurately perform analysis of in-house Hematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis specimens
- Run Hematology Analyzer (Sysmex)
- Perform POC (point of care) testing (iSTAT and INR)
- Perform manual urinalysis
- Perform other laboratory tests as ordered
- Process specimens for send-out testing
- Review orders and document/verify results in necessary computer programs (iKnowMed and Orchard)
- Work with the team to ensure compliance with COLA & CLIA regulations
- Follow all quality control, quality assurance and safety practices
- Record QC and patient results on appropriate logs, online forms and LIS computer system
- Report all critical results timely and document with accurate follow-up
- Perform proficiency testing quarterly
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly instrument maintenance as indicated
- Review and approve reference laboratory results

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands of this job typically require full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination in operation and manipulation of complex laboratory equipment. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time with the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and arms to reach or carry. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision, color perception and hearing to normal range. Requires legible handwriting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires significant interaction with management, staff and external auditors and clients. Work will require frequent travel by air or automobile, approximately 70% of workweek, on average.
