Purpose of this position: The Mental Health Professional Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of interdisciplinary health professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care. This role involves developing and implementing clinical strategies, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The Manager will also provide guidance and support to staff, coordinate with other departments, and contribute to the continuous improvement of mental health services to enhance patient outcomes, health equity and overall well-being.

We are seeking a passionate and creative Mental Health Professional to lead our inpatient psychiatry group programming, bringing fresh approaches to group therapy that will inspire meaningful outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and Lead Team: Provide leadership, supervision, and support to a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, Peer support Specialists, counselors, and social workers, ensuring high standards of care.
- Clinical Oversight: Oversee the clinical services provided by staff, ensuring that treatments and interventions are evidence-based, patient-centered, and aligned with current best practices in mental health care.
- Develop and Implement Policies: Create, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and ethical guidelines.
- Training and Development: Organize and facilitate ongoing professional development, training, and education for staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans to ensure staff are meeting performance standards and delivering quality care.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage departmental budget, allocate resources effectively, and ensure the financial sustainability of mental health programs.
- Client Care Coordination: Coordinate care plans and services for clients with complex needs, collaborating with other healthcare providers, community resources, and external organizations.
- Crisis Intervention Support: Provide guidance and support in crisis situations, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions, and assisting staff in handling difficult cases.
- Data and Outcome Analysis: Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes and service delivery metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, families, and community organizations, to promote collaborative care and partnerships.
- Performs all job functions of the MHP I and II.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must meet State of Minnesota definition for "Mental Health Professional" (Statute 245.462 subd. 18).
- Master's degree in a behavioral health field.
- At least two years of administrative, supervisory, or other leadership experience.

- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to effectively manage budget, personnel, and other organizational resources.
- Skilled in overseeing the efforts of mental health professionals and other team members.
- Superb ability to motivate employees and inspire positive changes within the department.
- Innovative thinker; ability to contribute new ideas that support organizational goals.
- Skilled in managerial duties, including hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
- Skilled in modeling the HHS mission, vision, and values in all interactions with leaders, employees, patients, and community members, including with regards to health and safety.
- High standards of ethics, discipline, and professionalism.
- Skilled in fostering a positive workplace culture and building inclusive workplace team.
License/Certifications:
- MN Licensure: LICSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
- Board approved supervisor.
