DESCRIPTIONThe GI Endoscopy Technician is responsible for setting up and assisting physicians and nurses with all GI procedures (including ERCP's and other advanced procedures). Duties include but are not limited to the following: procedure room set up, cleaning equipment and room; specimen collection and process; assisting during the pre and post procedure phases of care, patient transport, maintaining and operating equipment, performing high level disinfection, and assuring appropriate scope washing compliance; ordering supplies; restocking and maintaining inventory; assisting with billing functions and maintaining unit statistics; assisting with administrative and admission tasks and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Two (2) years of experience as a GI Endoscopy Tech.
- Two (2) year of advanced interventional GI procedures.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within 6 months of hire date.
- Recognized as a GTS (GI Technical Specialist) or an AGTS (Advanced GI Technical Specialist ) by completion of the SGNA Associates Program or Advanced Associates Program.
- Proven knowledge of various GI/special procedures, medical insurance billing, charge entry procedures, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of medical EMR system.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse patient population and teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- LVN, CNA, CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), EMT, Dialysis Tech or Surgical Tech certification.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS- Must be able to work various hours and locations during regular working hours as well as on call hours based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $75,084 - $93,292 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $35.96 - $44.68
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
