Job Summary
Work in a challenging but rewarding environment with like-minded, mission-oriented team members. The candidate needs to possess strong clinical and communication skills and be highly accountable. This person provides high quality care for individuals housed in the Harris County Jail. Perform intake health assessments and collaborate with advanced practice practitioners. The candidate will be trained on managing and documenting on urgent and chronic care issues in the event that medical provider coverage is needed in the general facility. 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends are required. Ensure organizational compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
a) Doctor of Medicine: M.D. or D.O.
Licenses & Certifications:
a) Must hold a valid Texas license to practice medicine and be registered as a physician in the State of Texas. Board Certified or eligible Family/General Practice or Internal Medicine for initial employment. Must be board-eligible or board certificated. Must become board certified before eligibility runs out. Must meet all credentialing criteria.

Request for leave must be submitted sixty (60) days in advance for approval to enable arrangements of schedule. CME consists of five (5) business days per year. Notice must be given sixty (60) days in advance in order to make arrangements for coverage of services.
