What You Will Achieve
At Pfizer we deliver breakthroughs that change patients’ lives. Pfizer’s Oncology Research Unit (ORU) is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the ADC Immunology team based in Bothell, Washington. ADC Immunology plays a vital role in discovering and advancing novel ADCs by comprehensive biological evaluation of payload mechanisms of action and dissecting multicellular interactions in the tumor microenvironment. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented, highly collaborative, organized, and flexible scientist with a strong background in cancer immunology, particularly in mechanisms of immunogenic cell death, tumor immunogenicity or immunosuppression.
How You Will Achieve It
- Apply cellular and molecular biology laboratory techniques to preclinical research projects in the area of cancer immunology.
- Execute molecular and cellular assays including flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, reporter assays, ELISA, Luminex, western blotting, WES and in vitro PD assays.
- Investigate novel antibody drug conjugate (ADC) linker payloads and new MOAs of our therapeutics through development, optimization, and execution of complex assays.
- Independently design, execute and document key experiments to enable clear go/no-go decisions; present findings to large and small audiences.
- Provide leadership within technical area of expertise; may train others.
- Maintain rigorous records of experimental progress using electronic laboratory notebooks.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Ph.D with 0-3 years of experience in cancer immunology, cancer biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with tissue culture, cell-based immune function assays and immunophenotyping, diverse molecular biology techniques, and preclinical animal models of cancer.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to a rapidly evolving environment.
- Ability to use critical thinking to address challenges and overcome obstacles independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences.
Nice-to-Have
- Postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Background in oncology, cancer biology, cancer drug discovery and ADCs.
- Expertise in characterizing effects of chemical or genetic perturbation in vitro and in vivo, such as mechanisms of immunogenic/regulated cell death or immunogenicity of small molecules/biologics.
- Experience with antibody effector function assays (ADCP, ADCC, CDC).
- Experience with single-cell and/or spatial -omics.
- Experience with biological data analysis in R/Python.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $88,300.00 to $147,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
