Quad City Gastroenterology is hiring a full-time Histology Supervisor to join our growing team.
About the Opportunity
The Supervisor, Laboratory Services implements the lab mission, goals, and objectives by establishing and directing the short and long term vision, values, and goals of the department and by managing all aspects of the department's histology section in collaboration with the Manager - Laboratory Services, including staffing, proficiency testing, competency validation, quality control, testing schedules, technical issues, and other functions toward the attainment of these goals.
About the Candidate
- Must be proficient in all areas of histopathology including accessioning, grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, QC, IHC.
- Must have solid knowledge and experience with CLIA and CAP accreditation guidelines.
- ASCP certified as HT, HTL, QIHC, or a combination thereof.
- Must meet CLIA requirements for non-pathologist grosser and have grossing experience.
- Must have good computer skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) or more years of experience as a bench-level technologist.
- Familiar and proficient with histology automation.
- Experience teaching and coaching associates.
