CVOR/CVT experience
Full Time Position
6:45am-3:15pm
Assist the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room and provide patient care as well as mentorship/training of surgical technologists in the clinical setting. The Specialty technologist is also responsible for the care, handling and maintenance of surgical equipment, instrumentation and supply management. Responsible for populating the STS Database or collecting other Perioperative data for performance improvement.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Specific course work: Graduate of surgical technologist program.
Preferred Education:
Associate's degree.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
- Surgical Tech Certification from NCCT, NBSTSA, or LCCC-ST
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
N/A
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years surgical technologist experience.
Preferred Experience:
3-5 years of working experience as a surgical technologist and assistant in a specialty line (Cardiology, Neurology, or Orthopedics).
Necessary Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
- Strong working knowledge of anatomic structure and human body system.
- Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including but not limited to presentation skills and report writing.
- Must have expert knowledge, use and demonstration of standard precautions; expert knowledge, use and experience with aseptic and sterile technique.
- Must have experience training and precepting staff in Cardio-Thoracic surgery.
- Must have organization and time management skills including but not limited to organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
