Weekend Central Clinical Liaison position!
- Must be available either every weekend or every other weekend and LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS
Essential Functions
- Network Development: Build a strong referral network, engage in person-to-person calls and meetings with the referral sources to increase referrals from existing contacts and generate referrals from new sources. Ensure responses to inquiries are handled properly, timely and with the appropriate follow-up. Ensure all bed-holds are updated as requested by the facility.
- Referral Process: Manage all aspects of the referral and admission process. Receive and evaluate all referrals to assure clinical appropriateness for the hospital. Work with the hospital to ensure all steps of the admission process are thoroughly completed.
- Responsibilities: Maintain excellent working relationships with medical professionals and other health-related facilities and organizations. Promote Company philosophy, mission, and objectives within and outside the hospitals. Attend and participate in facility meetings, calls and in-services. Always demonstrate honesty and integrity in the care and the use of patient and hospital property. Ensure referral tracking logs are current. Ensure End of day reports are sent to all Department Heads daily and in a timely manner. Demonstrate willingness to try new tasks, generate new ideas for change.
- Establish the patient’s eligibility for care along with Central Admissions Team.
- Communicate and deliver Bed Side sale to patient highlighting specialty per Center.
- Communicate with the families of patients.
- Interact with a variety of hospital staff from different departments.
- Assess patients upon admission to the hospital or medical facility.
- Review patients’ medical records as needed.
- Coordinate with healthcare facility staff to ensure that each patient has a smooth transition through the discharge process.
- Train/mentor new employees who serve as clinical liaisons.
- Schedule speaking engagements at hospitals or in our centers for hospital and physician contacts.
- Work alongside your partners in marketing and sales to bring awareness of the facility’s strengths and services into the hospitals, case managers, specialty clinics, and physicians.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
- Must be assertive and personable with the ability to balance the complex challenge of assessing patient care clinical needs and appropriateness of admission to facility.
- Communication skills- both written and oral- must be exemplary.
- Must have the ability to present to a variety of audiences.
- Must possess strong clinical assessments and process skills.
- Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of databases.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of hospital EMR’s (Allscripts, 4Next, NaviHealth, Epic).
- Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions.
- Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co-workers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must have excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Experience working in the healthcare industry.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be an effective time manager and multi-tasker.
