The role you’ll contribute: Under general supervision, primary duties include imaging both neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, following the age specific guidelines of Facility parameters, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation, and keeping the hospital computer system up to date with the progress of these exams. The CT Technologist II actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining respectful relationships while implementing the principles of AdventHealth. The tech II position accepts additional duties in the department, such as keeping, counting and recording statistics, tracking and ordering supplies, performing complicated 3D and CTA workstation studies, overseeing smooth operations of campus locations, performing the more difficult exams, teaching students/new technologists and other tasks as assigned by the department manager.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Performs all exams, including the most difficult, using Facility CT protocols. Educates patients concerning exams and properly screens for contrast allergies.
- Completes all exams in a timely manner, minimizes empty table time, and follows through with communication and discharge of OP's.
- Operates all imaging equipment safely, demonstrating the skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.
- Practices infection control standards, maintains a clean and organized room, and performs QA on CT scanners.
- Reviews all images of exams, repeating sequences as necessary for best possible results.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate's degree or Technical degree in a related field
- One year CT experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of Radiologic Technology training and A.R.R.T.(R) registration
- General Radiographer state license as required by state if applicable
- ARRT – CT
Preferred qualifications:
- BS in a healthcare related discipline
- Two years hospital-based clinical Radiology experience
