This position is for a January 2025 start date.
The Assessment Center is the designated Emergency Department for the hospital. While functioning as a point of entry for the hospital, we treat a diverse patient population, primarily supporting obstetrical patients throughout all stages of their pregnancy. We assess and treat conditions such as labor, hypertension, diabetes, hyperemesis, preterm complications, and fetal surveillance, as well as early pregnancy complications. We also treat gynecological, sexual assault, bariatric, oncology, and medical/surgical patients. On occasion, we may receive patients requiring a higher level of care, which we will treat, stabilize, and transfer as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required.
- Current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required.
- Experience and/or certification in the area preferred.
- December graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing, monitoring, and evaluating patient status by observing the patient and analyzing data to develop a plan of nursing care.
- Developing a detailed plan of care that includes patient/family education based on assessment findings.
- Communicating with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure plans are understood and operationalized.
- Evaluating patient responses to treatment and revising care plans as needed.
- Establishing collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Monitoring patient progress and preparing patients for discharge.
- Directing and coordinating nursing care in accordance with professional standards.
- Performing other duties assigned by Department management.

Pay Range: $27.72 - $44.35
