Nurse Educator - Cath/Ep/IR - Full Time - Days

Job Summary
The Nurse Educator assesses the educational needs of nursing staff, students, and others to plan and deliver orientation and continuing education. Acts as a resource by mentoring staff, monitoring/evaluating clinical competencies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Participates in committees to facilitate evidence-based care implementation and serves as a role model to all staff.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs for staff, hospital, and community. Contributes to professional development through innovative programs. Collaborates with Nursing Leadership to assess staff educational needs.
- Identifies new employees' orientation needs, plans individualized orientation, evaluates progress, and ensures compliance with mandatory programs. Assesses nursing staff practice, develops education plans, and conducts classes.
- May work with Nurse Leadership on employee improvement plans and standards of nursing care practice development. Provides direct patient care to select patients and maintains professional standards.
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
- BSN
- Minimum 2 years in specialty area
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Nursing
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Required:
- Valid NY State nursing license
Preferred:
- AHA BLS and/or ACLS Instructor certification
- Certification in specialty area
