Be a part of the team building the future of healthcare!
Firefly Health is building a revolutionary new type of comprehensive health care and coverage, powered by a relationship-driven care team, a trusted virtual and in-person clinical network, and our proprietary technology platform.
Founded by experienced clinicians and technology leaders, Firefly Health is on a mission to deliver clinical and financial health through joyful, always-there care. We are flipping the script on what it means to be a health plan and actually providing a true health benefit to members.
We are intensely focused on optimizing the physical, mental, and financial wellbeing of those who want (and deserve) something better than the status quo. If you are ready to roll up your sleeves and take on our audacious mission, we would love to hear from you.
Your Role
As a Virtual Primary Care Physician, you will have the opportunity to work with an innovative integrated team of primary care clinicians delivering best-in-class virtual first primary care. This role involves direct synchronous and asynchronous virtual patient care in the Firefly Care Model, which includes collaboration with a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Health Guide, Registered Nurse (RN), and Behavioral Health Specialist. Our clinicians leverage an extensive network of home diagnostics and physical care partners when needed for diagnosis and/or treatment. You will engage deeply in the care of chronically or acutely complex patients and be integral in delivering patient-centered care in a mission-driven culture that ensures quality outcomes for all. This is a great opportunity for a physician with excellent clinical skills and leadership potential to help build the future of primary care.
You will:
- Provide 100% FTE primary care to a diverse patient population in a complete virtual setting.
- Conduct virtual consultations with patients to assess medical concerns, provide diagnoses, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Oversee Nurse Practitioner collaborative practice agreements and serve as the physician supervisor participating in daily huddles to ensure patient safety and best outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of evidence-based clinical programs.
- Serve as an educator and clinical consultant to Firefly colleagues on your team.
- Take home call on a predictable schedule to address patients’ urgent health needs.
- Work in a high-growth environment focusing on cross-functional collaboration.
- Adhere to Firefly best practices, policies, and procedures as they relate to patient-related standards of care.
- Maintain multi-state licensure with associated CME requirements.
You’ll be a good fit if you:
- Are willing to work 100% FTE over 5 days per week.
- Have at least five years of experience in a primary care setting.
- Are a graduate of a state-accredited MD or DO residency program.
- Have current board certification in family or internal medicine.
- Current Massachusetts license to practice as a medical doctor is required. Must be eligible for a medical license in 50 states. Our team will support you to secure license, registration, and credentialing in necessary states.
- Have experience working effectively on cross-functional teams with NPs to care for patients.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with patients and colleagues.
- Have experience working at the intersection of healthcare delivery and technology.
- Have experience with tools related to process improvement and rapid-cycle change (a plus).
- Reside in the US.
It’d be nice if:
- You have experience with strong NP collaborative work.
- You have active unrestricted licenses in multiple states.
- You have a working knowledge of virtual primary care.
- You have a current Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration and federal DEA registration.
Our office is in Watertown, Massachusetts, but we’ve developed a robust remote working structure to give us more geographical flexibility while hiring for many positions.
