Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to assist in providing therapeutic interventions and support to patients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized therapy plans designed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assist patients in developing, recovering, and improving skills needed for daily living and work activities.
- Monitor and document patient progress and response to interventions.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, home exercises, and adaptive equipment.
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist, other healthcare professionals, and the patient's family to ensure cohesive care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Previous experience in a home health setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
