Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of wound care for patients.
- Provide direct patient care and educate other nurses regarding skin preservation and wound care.
- Responsible for assessing all admitting patients for risk factors, implementing interventions to prevent pressure injury, teaching staff, and completing necessary documentation. This position rounds with a Wound Physician weekly and must manage that relationship and the care plans associated with each patient.
- Review, analyze data, and report infection control trends through the use of an electronic surveillance system.
- Assist in the identification of infection control issues and conduct both process and outcome monitoring.
- Coordinate outbreak investigations with the director of nursing and medical director.
- Coordinate and monitor monthly departmental infection control rounds processes.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee.
- Provide information to residents and family members on prevention techniques and ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid and active state-issued Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university required.
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
***WAGE RANGE: $40.00-$52.78 D.O.E.***
